Rockers and other people

Also loving Jay Howell's new work. This show is current and happening tonight at Park Life.

49 Miles

Wow, Its Friday already! That week was a blluuurrr.

I'm really loving these pieces by Annie Galvin. (also forgive me that this event has passed) Either way her reinterpretation of this San Francisco icon lifts my spirits.

reminders

A reminder by the dear Maira Kalman. One of my heros!

Living requires a beautiful indifference to the extraordinary amount that could go wrong - and the direction we're all ultimately headed.

Creative Types

Paul Barbera a photographer that shoots interior spaces, specifically the interiors of creative types. A workspace version of The Selby shall we say? (even though he does that too.) Kinda Love. Where they Create.

Visits with Friends

My good friend Robert allowed me in his place with my nosy camera. Want to see more? Go to SF Girl by Bay for the rest. Thanks Victoria for giving me the opportunity to share Robert's lovely home with everyone.

Defenestration

Add Video
I've long loved this decrepit old building on 6th street. I know it's not politcally correct as its taking up valuable land that could be used for low income housing, but it will be so sad when the city finally takes it down as it just gets better with age. The art installation on the façade is "Defenstration" by Brian Goggin. You can read a bit more about it here.

lushness

Although I'm not a fan of the California rain (unrelenting day after day drizzle) and would much prefer the East coast variety (torrential downpour then sunny skies) I do enjoy how it magnificently changes the landscape from golden hues to lush greens.

All the pretty Birds

I fell for mondoblogo's bird collection. The best part is they all have funny little names. Perhaps I should come up with a name for my little monkey. Any thoughts?
Are you a collector or have a collection?

Oh, their names are from the top left moving clockwise...
Terrance, Agnes, Old Bob, Mr. Doug, Dennis, Old Dennis, Samantha, and (my fave) Porkchop.

By the way does anyone know their origin, designer, maker?

Modern Artifacts

I've had a growing interest in textiles for the past 5 years or so. I'm sure it started before this but consciously at least 5 years ago. So when I walked past this alpaca wool piece a bit reminiscent of Vernor Panton's color palette I couldn't leave it behind especially at its very affordable price point. Just the sort of thing to brighten your day. Thanks Chris!
In fact I often find a deal or two over at Modern Artifacts. Have you?
