Walking around CCA. I should really make an effort to wonder through this space every once in awhile and attend all the free lectures. What a great resource I have in the neighborhood that I never use.
And I don't know about you but I could pretty much be happy as a clam going to school for the rest of my life... just jumping from one artistic major to the next. Is that a bad thing?
One more thing, What do you all think of the new header? I've been putting off posting just so I could finish the illustration. I never really liked the old one I just did it quick and easy so I could get it up and start this thing... so its been long long long over due. So I would love to hear what you think.

I obviously can't get the showgirl/burlesque aesthetic out of my head... I'm just going to have to purchase some glittery tap pants and be done with it already.
The lovely Sarah Sophie via Refinery 29.... I've posted once before about the Citizens Band. Have you seen them? We unfortunately have nothing like them here in SF. boo!

These are the last of the sneak peeks, at least until the opening, which is this Saturday. See you there.
Oops I almost forgot... Our concept and inspiration for Eve Lounge are the showgirls of the 20's and 30's shot so exquisitely by Alfred Cheney Johnston. ACJ draped the beauties in jewelry, feathers, and lace and nothing else. So how could we not pull from the same language.
And Uncle Karl gave us some tips and inspiration as well.
After we gathered the materials, black fabric drums, gold chain and accoutrement, and feathers galore we created a mock up, model, prototype, whatever you would like to call it. This helped us do two things... One was find out where the holes were, what was wrong with the design or what we overlooked and missed. And the second was to figure out how to teach this to a bunch of friends because we didn't have the time or the money to do this all on our own. Next installment finished product.

Wow, Its already September, where did August go? So, we are nearing the opening of Eve Lounge and I thought you would like another peek ( in addition to the one I shared previously) into the process. As you have seen in previous posts here and here, we have been through many rounds of inspiration regarding the lighting at Eve. Long story short, if you will, we decided to take on the job ourselves. One of our first stops was General Bead recommend by good friend Ann D'Apice, jewelry designer extraordinaire. (Although this is really only one of her many many talents.) Here are a couple of shots of the shop. Lets just say it is as anxiety inducing as entering a fabric shop is for me. Way, way, way to many choices...
