60 Vision

D & Department have developed a brand (not new news, just new to me) specifically to highlight 1960's design in Japan. They call it 60 Vision, I call it recycling sexy.

Thanks!

I'm a bit late with this but Thank-you all for all the votes you sent my way. And for letting me poke, pry, pull those votes out of you every day. Unfortunately I didn't make it into that prized group, but the dream was fun while it lasted. We get to find out today who will be the winner of the walk-on (because really that was the real prize) who do you think it will be?

Either way I thought you would like to see a photo of the original owners of our beloved Eames lounge. That is the Mister on Mom's lap with Dad and Polka Dots. Isn't it genius. I just love this photo.

Restoring the Faith

I had a pretty great thing happen to me on Monday so I thought I would share. I was out for coffee and cake with my father Sunday night and afterwards we decided to walk to Washington Square Park to sit and chat some more.

Apparently we got up to leave and I left my handbag behind on the park bench. I got a phone call from my Boss early Monday morning saying that Roger had my purse. What??!!! Who's Roger and where is my handbag... a quick search and I realized it was gone. It seems another gentleman found my bag, doesn't speak english, (as he is a new immigrant from China) and contacted his friend Roger to call me. Wow! I went to retrieve it and everything was there and he wouldn't accept anything from me. Can you believe it?! So these flowers are for him. Wow! I'm still in awe.

Julius Schulman

I am so Thankful that I got a chance to meet Julius a couple of times. He gave a presentation or two at our school. He was always charming and full of life. And I loved that we would be looking through his slide show of famous case study houses and about every third picture or so there would be a photo of a woman walking away in a bikini. Ha! It seems the lensman got distracted from time to time.

Well I just came across design and architecture's tribute to Julius and it was heart warming and dear. I really suggest you take a moment for a listen.

Thank-you dear Victoria of sfgirlbybay for all your kind words and support.

And as for you AMC I am pissed that the last two days you are completely out of commission. How are people are supposed to vote if they can't even get on the site? And don't give me that maintenance bull!

Madmen 'mini' Style

I know this has been out for awhile but I thought it was appropriate timing. I about fell out of my chair the first time I saw the article. I'm not sure what my 8 year old brain was configuring but I'm pretty sure nothing like Arlo's. Arlo is the son of Matthew Weiner the creator of Madmen. Check out the article you must read how he composes each look.

Thanks Monoscope for the support!

And Thanks Grace for your support too!

Will you support me too? Click on the photo to the right and vote 5 stars!
