A film coming out this fall by Michael Bernard and Gavin Froome. Watching the trailer was pretty arresting as Neutra is the architect who founded my school, (among others) thus I see many I've come in contact with through the years, Julius Schulman, Barbara Bestor, and Michael Folonis was one of my professors... Oh how I miss Los Angeles.

Barkley Hendricks: Birth of Cool

I cannot wait to see this show! There is an excitement that comes when discovering an artist of this caliber. And then there is this interior insistence a little voice that keeps speaking up and saying why haven't I heard of him or seen his work before. These portraits are perhaps the best I've ever seen and so far I've only seen them digitally or reproduced.

Update: In person they are stellar! A must see!

Chez Spencer on wheels

Chez Spencer (One of our favorite restaurants) has grown wheels and taken to the road. At least thats what we were told when we were dining there the other night. This was exciting news, skate cheeks and fois gras from a 'taco truck', we of course had to see it for ourselves and drove to its location on Folsom Street in between 7th and 8th. I do believe this is the prettiest 'taco truck' I've ever seen. And yes that is Lavender growing from the center of the truck.

In continuation with the tribute to the mister... Obviously, this thing is dripping with Testosterone and not my normal posting.

The Nike 6.0 'ill mobile' got some serious love this past year. See here, here, here, and here. (psst I think I'm the architect hehe, thanks Hub for letting me concept on something so abnormally out of my realm, it was mucho fun!)

I thought I'd try something a little different since its the Mister's birthday this week I thought a little tribute might be nice. Starting with this image. No, its not his illustration, although he is adept with the pen. No, this image lets say reminded me of him. Why? you ask.
Well lets just say he also has talents that are best described as sound effects. I'll let you piece that together.

Oh and if anyone can tell me who the illustrator is I'd like to give credit to this genius.
