Aeschleah

One of the grea
t things about my job is getting to meet and collaborate with all the people that have a part in pulling a place together. Obviously not all those relationships are grand but a good majority are very talented and creative folk. The kind of folk you want to know.

Recently a client commissioned artwork in the spirit and concept of the space we are designing for them. Aeschleah was the photographer chosen by the artist (artist profile coming up) to do the portraits. I got to sit in and see it come together, which was a supernal experience since the imagery being created stemmed from the imagery we presented to the client, Colin O'Malley and Leilani Brennan for Eve Lounge.

I won't share the the projec
t photos (just yet, but soon soon) but here is some of her other work. And you can see more here and here. The first two are her and her man. The second two are... (what would you call these?) pre-babe shots? With child seems a bit too precious.... prego shots seems disrespectful... Help me out here. Couple in love shots + 1? Regardless they are gorgeous and so is she!

p.s. I love love love the holiday cards she has on flickr. Hilarious!

Pulp

I'm not sure why I'm drawn to them if its my longtime desire to acquire a headdress or that they remind me of my mister and his love for all things from the 70's, or the possibility of Star Trek, Barbarella and some classic western have aligned in the making of these images. Which I'm pretty sure is pure genius.

I know these have been making the rounds online but I just couldn't help posting them too. And with new News... by the end of the week prints will be on sale here.

The Photos are a collaboration between Neil Krug and Joni Harbeck. There will be a book but it will be out later this year.

Play Space

We might be awarded (fingers crossed) a commission to do an indoor playspace. One of the owner/proprietors of the proposed space saw Frjtz and gave us a call.

This is of course exciting on many levels but one is that Frjtz was one of the first projects I was given creative control of and two... It's a kids playspace! I really don't know what could be a more delightful assignment to be presented with.

As I was perusing through very very beautiful (a blog from a creative collective in Italy) I came across quite a few fun environments that offer quite a twist on the typical. None are kids spaces but all show a kid like enthusiasm for fun! And I'm staunch proponent of fun.

Small Magazine

I don't have a little one running around but I don't think you need to to appreciate this little gem of a magazine. The layouts, the artists, the photos... all are delectable and most importantly FUN!

Also the Lovely Jaime from Design Milk did a little posting of us (Y.A. studio) the other day.

Organize!

I'm always looking for ways to organize. When I came across these my first thought was uh oh the Kitchen is going to need some rearranging.

Although I think I'll have to use it more as inspiration at that price. Beautiful piece none the less.
